How do I join the club?

What are the benefits of membership?

Membership gives you access to the club at reduced fees and offers various benefits during events and competitions. You will also receive confirmation of membership, which may support relevant firearm licence applications.

What are the range fees?

Range fees depend on the specific event you wish to attend. Refer to the Disciplines page for details about fees for each event.

Are visitors welcome?

Yes. Visitors may attend most club events by paying the applicable visitor fee. Some events require prior registration or vetting, so please check the Disciplines page for event-specific fees and participation requirements before attending.

What days are you open?

The range is open to members and visitors during events listed on our Calendar page. There are no shooting activities on Sundays or public holidays.

Can I make a booking?

Prior registration is required only for events marked as such on our Disciplines page. Other events operate on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be booked in advance.

Can I use the range during the week?

The range is generally not open to the public during the week. Public and club-hosted events are held on selected Saturdays listed on our Calendar page. Friends of the club may be able to assist with weekday range access. Experienced members may apply for approval to use the range without supervision.

Can beginners use the range?

Yes. Our Public Sessions welcome new and experienced shooters in a controlled environment supervised by range officers. Range officers may offer general guidance, but the club does not provide formal firearm training.

What must I bring to an event?

Requirements vary by event, so please check the relevant event on our Disciplines page before attending. To participate, you will generally need a suitable firearm, ammunition, and eye and ear protection.

Can I attend if I do not own a firearm?

Spectators are welcome at our Public Sessions, but the club does not rent firearms or sell ammunition. Friends of the club may be able to assist if you would like to participate.

Is eye and ear protection required?

Yes. Eye and ear protection is required to participate in all shooting events. Protection is available at our Public Sessions, but please bring your own when attending other events.

Can I rent or purchase firearms or ammunition from the club?

The club does not rent or sell firearms or ammunition. Friends of the club may be able to assist you.

Do you provide training?

The club does not provide formal firearm training. During suitable events, our range officers and experienced members may offer general guidance. For accredited training, see our friends of the club.

Do you offer storage facilities?

The club does not provide storage facilities. Friends of the club may be able to assist you with firearm storage.

Can I advertise at the club?

Yes. The club offers several on-site advertising packages for businesses and individuals wishing to reach our members and visitors. View the current Advertising Brochure for available packages, locations and pricing. To reserve advertising space, contact us at info@swpc.co.za.
