Public Session

Our Public Sessions offer members and visitors the opportunity to shoot in a controlled environment supervised by multiple range officers to ensure maximum safety. The range accommodates up to 15 individuals simultaneously, allowing participants to shoot at paper targets set at distances between 5 and 25 meters with all firearms in handgun calibers and below.

Upon arrival, participants are greeted by a safety officer who assists with administrative duties to grant access to the range. Inside, shooters operate under the command of a range officer who guides them and maintains control over the range. This process allows participants to pack/unpack, set up targets, load, and shoot at their own pace and comfort level. Focused on precision shooting, both new and experienced shooters can develop their shooting fundamentals. For inexperienced individuals, our range officers may offer advice and assistance, though they will not provide formal training.

Fee includes one target. Spectators are welcome. Eye and ear protection is available.

Clay Pigeon

Our SWPC clay range is a registered CTSASA facility, affiliated with the National Olympic Committee, and has operated under CTSASA rules and procedures since 2004. The range follows the Down The Line (DTL) trap format.

Shoots take place across five pegs arranged in a crescent, with an oscillating trap machine launching random clay targets. Each squad consists of five shooters, each occupying a peg. Participants typically use double-barrelled shotguns, such as 'over-and-under' models, with both barrels available for a single target called on the traditional "Pull!" A hit with the first barrel earns three points, while a hit with the second scores two. Each shooter takes turns firing at five clays from each peg, for a total of 25 targets.

Shooters need a minimum of 25 cartridges (five per peg), with #7 shot and a maximum load of 28g. Eye and hearing protection are mandatory, and closed footwear is required (no sandals allowed). Booking is essential, as each squad is pre-arranged with specific time slots. Don't forget to bring your shooting logbook if you require activity verification.
